About the Book: (from Amazon)
Every year, the quaint town of Clover buzzes with excitement as the County Fair rolls in. The lively sidewalk sales, thrilling rides, and the highly anticipated chili cook-off are the talk of the town. But this year, the chili brings more heat than anyone expected.
When a cook-off judge falls ill after tasting a suspicious bowl of chili, people begin to wonder how that could happen? The incident becomes even murkier when Della decides that the intended target might have been the town's sheriff, who was notably absent due to a sudden accident.
Enter Della, a resilient widow who's been grappling with the mysterious circumstances surrounding her husband's death. Just when she thought she’d laid her suspicions to rest, a determined FBI agent reopens old wounds, revealing that her husband’s "accidental" death was anything but. As Della delves deeper, she senses dark eyes trailing her every move and realizes she's next on the killer's list.
Tangled in a web of deceit, romance, and danger, Della finds solace in the unlikeliest of guardians: Moose, her loyal St. Bernard, whose fierce dedication to protecting his owner knows no bounds. With the sheriff and the FBI agent both vying for her heart and trust, Della must decide whom to rely on. But with Moose by her side and a town rallying behind her, she might just stand a chance against the shadows threatening to engulf her.
