A man was not very happy--he and the wife were fighting over every little thing. He knew he had to get away from everything and everybody to try and figure out what he should do. Without telling anyone he took off before his wife was awake and drove to a place where he knew he could find peace and have time to think.
His wife ultimately got really worried--the police did not seem to be doing anything so she went to Al and Jake’s private investigation office and hired them to find her husband. She was positive that something was wrong! They took the job but nobody had heard from him-nor did he tell anyone he was leaving. They asked everyone he knew.
They eventually asked enough people enough times and found that he might have gone camping--but which campground? When they eventually found his campsite-something was really wrong and they got the park rangers involved. Sure enough he had hurt himself--they actually ended up saving his life.
Meanwhile back at home other things were going on!!
No fears, very happy endings on all accounts and some really great recipes at the end!
About the Book: (from Amazon)
A troubled marriage, A missing husband, An early morning dropped call from him, They all fuel fears for his safety.
When Jayne Bartlett walks into Al and Jake’s private investigation office and tells them her husband is missing, they figure it’s just one more case of a husband who needed a little time and space away from his spouse.
But when her husband, Corey, doesn’t return after several days, and his parents and friends haven’t heard from him, and he doesn’t answer his cell phone, red flags of alarm begin to surface.
And faced with the difficult task of solving the case of the missing husband, the last thing Jake needs is to learn that homes have been broken into during the day on Bainbridge Island, the island where he and his wife, DeeDee, live. She’s at home during the day. Could she be in danger? Would their dogs be able to stop a would-be robber?
When a friend of the missing husband gives Al and Jake a lead, they find themselves in a remote campground that serves as a trailhead for difficult hiking trails, trails they’re too inexperienced to take. At this point, there’s nothing they can do but put their trust in the forest rangers to find Corey, but they worry it will be too late.

No one I know has gone missing. I would be totally scared and doing everything I could to find her/him.
Thankfully no one I know has gone missing
Yes, it was scary, but thankfully he ws found pretty quickly. I prayed.
no
I have never known anyone who has gone missing. If it should happen to me.. well.. I would exhaust all avenues to try and find them... I would be at the police all the time.
No, they have not.
There were a couple of classmates of mine that went missing while in high school. One was found murdered (this was in the 1980s) and that case has never been solved. The other one is as far as I know still missing.
Yes , my brother was missing for about one hour, but some one found him. I was out there looking for him too.
Luckily this has not happened to me, but if it did I'd call the police immediately, and also search for them myself, post on social media, contact the news etc.
Thankfully, it has never happened to me. I think I'd be a basket-case if it did.
Luckily this has not happened to me.
My brother disappeared one day. As a young man, he decided to go up to Alaska and didn't contact my parents for a month or two. Scared the heck out of them. He thought they'd try to stop him.
Yes, in 1957 my Great Aunt went missing. It's assumed she was abducted and murdered by the mob in Chicago because she was a reporter who had been reporting the illegal activities of the mob in the city. They had a search for her, with no results and she was declared dead 7 years later.
