Olivia moved from New Mexico to Cottonwood Springs with her young daughter Emma. She was a housekeeper who had lots of experience because her family owned a family motel that Olivia had been helping keep clean for many years! Olivia's uncle moved in and he was not a very nice man. Olivia figured out he was stealing and told her parents. He being a slick operator convinced them that she was paranoid and out of her mind. The only thing she could do was leave-her parents believed him and not her.
She really was a great housekeeper and ended up not only cleaning for others in the neighborhood but also for Bridgit and Linc at the B & B and their house. But all of a sudden Olivia started acting strange. They left her alone for a while-but finally got the reason out of her. Brigid went right to work investigating. They also installed Olivia and her daughter in their home and then a room at the B & B until all was figured out.
Although the original reason Olivia was frightened turned out to be not a real problem--her gut was right--her uncle had tracked her down and the unthinkable almost happened. Luckily Jett was on the case as well as a baseball player! All's well that ends well in Cottonwood Springs!! Linc even got to make some appetizers for a wedding reception for a different newly married couple-a few of the recipes are at the end.
About the Book: (from Amazon)
When yard security lights at your house start randomly coming on, it can be terrifying. It just might mean that even though you moved from New Mexico to Colorado to get away from your uncle, if he’s found you, it’s no safer here.
If you’re being stalked, and you’re afraid it’s a family member, sometimes it’s a good idea to move out of state. What you don’t count on is the stalker being able to find you, your very young daughter, and where you live and work. Olivia now knows why the yard security lights are randomly coming on. But is anywhere safe?
When Linc and Brigid hired Olivia to help with the housework at their B & B as well as at their home, they never expected to become involved in trying to keep Olivia and her daughter safe. Olivia thinks her uncle might be the person stalking her, but how could he find her?
It’s a good thing Brigid’s a consultant with the local Sheriff’s Department and has access to confidential information. It’s not a good thing when her one-hundred-twenty-pound Newfoundland dog, Jett, shows all the signs that someone is sneaking around at night on their property. Are their lives in danger as well? And how did Olivia’s stalker find out she was staying at their B & B?
When Olivia’s daughter is grabbed by her uncle at a children’s playground, it’s a very good thing that Jett will do whatever it takes to protect those he cares about.

Yes and I have.
I've never had anyone need something like that from me, but I would like to think that I would be willing to help someone out who was in need.
I have never done it but I would if someone needed my help.
Yes, I helped out a good friend of mine, let him stay with me for a few days.
I have not done this yet but I would if I had to and I knew my family would be safe.

Yes, we have let someone stay in our house. We would do it again.
It would have to depend on the circumstances. We have shared our home with others in the past.
Yes. When my boys were in high school one of their friends was kicked out of their family home a couple of months before graduation (long story!). We took him in and helped him get back on track to finish school. Last week he retired after 20 years in the Army, so proud of him!

I have never done this but I would be open to helping someone.
Yes, when I was 19 a neighbor of mine was smashing the car windows of his girlfriend while he was quite drunk. she had taken his car to go get food and for whatever reason he thought she had left him. I let her stay in my home that night. We later became good friends and moved to florida together a few months later.
I have never helped anyone but we've never been asked for help. I would definitely be willing to let someone stay until they can get back on their feet
Yes, my husband and I have helped quite a few people like that. Occasionally, it didn't turn out so well, but it didn't turn us sour.
Several years ago, someone broke down in front of our house and we let them in until their ride arrived.
I'd probably do it.
I've offered and yes I would.
No, I haven't helped them by having them stay in my home, but I have helped them in other ways.
Honestly, probably not
