Grocery Shopping Is Only For the Brave

You see that grocery cart pictured above--well it is getting harder and harder to be able to afford to fill it up! Amazon has a slew of them in various prices-click in to see one of them. I currently have 2 carts but mine only have two wheels--most these days have four. Of course I have stopped going to supermarkets these days--what with the price of gas. However I do have to go shopping for my 99 year old Mom--I went to a store today and left with a major headache!!

My Mom is particular and very few items that she needed were on sale. Grabbing the store brands helped on some items. Then there are the items that are just not there--like corn on the cobb. At least the flavor ice cream she needed in the store brand was 2/$5.00--and the deli person gave me a dollar discount on the corned beef! Her aide and I walked those aisles for over an hour-the store was very crowded and the lines to check out--don't ask!! Which is why when I shop for myself I use delivery services!! Definitely saves wear and tear on my getting too old for this body.

Depending on what I need I either use Instacart and go to the store I do not want to drive to. Unless you go for their express then the delivery charge can be rather large. Lately I have been using Amazon Prime. I am finding that they have most of what I want and the 9.99 delivery fee is waived if you spent at least $50.00. I use Amazon Fresh but they also have Whole Foods. I find that I like their own brand on most items. If you click on that link then just click on groceries.

So, if I am not using my two shopping carts to cart groceries up to my apartment--what do I use them for? One of them holds my recyclables to take down to the basement--the other is my laundry basket!!
