Southern hospitality is well known. And the Daughters of the Confederacy embody that spirit. However there aren't too many of them left and one of them knows that things have to change up a bit. As a result she hired Dani, who not only was not one of the regular Southern caterers--but she was from the North!!
Well one of the women wasn't having it and forced someone to put a root bag (very bad luck) in Dani's dresser-and in the dresser of the woman who was hosting at her home. She was gotten the better of--so all's well that ends well. I have to say Dani's niece put that woman in her place in a very Southern manner!!
I truly enjoyed this one with it's Southern aspects-both good and bad!
About the Book: (from Amazon)
What could be better than being hired to cater a champagne celebration in Savannah, Georgia in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Daughters of the Confederacy? Well, maybe it’s not such a good thing if your life is threatened.
The Daughters were an exclusive group of women who owned Historic Registry homes in Savannah, plantations outside of town, and wielded a huge amount of influence over Savannah, and even the whole state of Georgia. But Dani Rosetti never expected to have her life threatened because she was a symbol of change that some of those women did not want.
But were they ready to do whatever they had to do in order to preserve the status quo of their community? Did that involve doing something harmful to Dani, because she wasn’t one of their preferred Savannah caterers? When Dani started receiving root bundles and mojo bags, her niece’s nanny, Briana, became concerned. Was Dani in danger? And according to Dr. Henry, a man who had spent his life working with the white magic and black magic of that region of the United States, she definitely was.
But what was the motive, and who was responsible? Arthur, Dani’s sous-chef and bodyguard, tries to make sense of it, but Dani thinks it is absolutely ridiculous, probably nothing more than an old wives’ tale. Whether or not she believes in it, Arthur is convinced the danger is real. Then Cosette, the Daughter who hired Dani for the event, starts to receive root bundles and mojo bags.
Anna, Dani’s niece, is her usual precocious self and quickly learns what “Bless you” really means in the South. Join Dani, Arthur, and Anna as they become involved in the light and dark side of what is commonly referred to as the “Hostess City of the South,” the mysterious and oh-so-beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia.

I do not believe in Black or White Magic but I agree weird things happen.
while I don't believe in magic I do know that weird thing happen sometimes.
It's hard for me to believe in Voodoo. But who knows? A hex?
If things stared to go wrong I might go to my family for advice.
I believe it's possible
USE MY OWN MOJO ON THEM IF THEY TRIED TO PUT A HEX ON ME.
I don't believe in hexes, so I would probably laugh if someone put a hex on me.
I do not believe in black or white magic.
I would probably just laugh if someone put a hex on me.
I would do a prayer of protection if I thought someone was trying to put a hex on me.

I don't know if I 100% believe in voodoo, but strange things have happened.
I think such things are not real.
I would apologize to the person and ask them to remove
If I thought someone was putting a hex on me, I would just act like I am putting a hex on them. Reverse psychology is amazing!
I don't believe but it's fun to read about.
I do believe in Magic
I think that if you believe in something, it can affect you. Like a spell or a hex. Or a superstition. Those people that believe in them, have more bad luck.
I believe there are forces at work, but what they are I do no know.
If some one was trying to put a hex on me I would be freaked out!
If I thought someone was putting a hex me, I would seek advice from my parish priest.
I would counter any hex on me by using my own magic to stop it
I do not think or mess around with stuff like that. I think anything is possible in this universe!
If I thought someone was putting a hex on me, I would tell them that I am putting a hex on them.
I would probably just laugh if I thought someone was trying to hex me,.
I don't believe in any of it, so I'd try to come up with some rational explanation.
Looks like an interesting book. I don't disbelieve in it.
Thanks for the contest.
sounds like a fun one
I would tell them that is odd and that I don't believe in hex
A Hex only works if you think it does, I believe in white magic.
