I received the paperback version of this book in the mail along with the Christmas Coat back in Dec 2020-I read and reviewed both back then. I had no idea that it was going to be sent to me but I will be forever grateful. I have read many of this author's books before and have loved every single one of them-you may have noticed my reviews over the years. Below is what I wrote in that review
"This short novel is the MOST inspirational novel I have ever had the pleasure of reading. According to the author it was inspired by a true story. It is the story of a young orphan boy who was given a present one Christmas by another orphan because he (and his room mate) had not received a thing. "He heard the sound of happiness" and it ultimately shaped his life.
Although parts are heart breaking-the ending will warm your hearts and you will know the true meaning of giving and receiving and the happiness that can accrue from both."
I handed this book over to one of my friends who in turn shared it with her students. She commented that she was sure she had heard of this before when she was in school-in a different form and that it really was based on a true story! Whether you get the paperback or ultimately the kindle version of the Tin Whistle I hope you do the same.
I would like to mention that the Christmas Coat is another book you simply do not want to miss-"This reminds me of The Christmas Carol--remember Scrooge? Well this is kind of a modern day version.....Have no fear there is a very happy ending!! As a matter of fact I found tears in my eyes--I love happy endings!! " (quote from my original review)

I would try to overcome my fears and put all my strength into saving my loved ones!
I would save them if possible.
As the oldest of 7 siblings trying to help my younger siblings throughout their life is what I have been doing almost my entire life. We lost our mom in the last 5 months and I have been concerned about all. have been trying to make sure things are fine with the others.
I would rise to the occasion &I would do everything I possibly could to save our family!
I would jump into action and do my best to save all.. I might even call in a few favors and ask for help!
If I were the only one who could save our family from destruction, I would do whatever it would take to keep them safe.
