A detective who wants nothing to do with people anymore--His new partner is a K-9 who was originally trained by the armed forces--this is a highly trained dog who is very tired with being left in the car while she is supposed to be protecting Reed. They both have to get used to each other!
Horrendous murders are beginning to mount up on the poor side of town and Reed is roped into helping along with his partner Billie. They finally find a common thread and Reed begins to piece it all together. There is someone high up in the ranks who has been hiding something----Billie, once she sniffs a scent never forgets it--and when Reed tells her to hold the person she does! I think Billie is my favorite character in this novel!
There is a lot of action in here and I know I will be reading another in this series.
