This short story which can be read in no time at all is absolutely amazing!

Charlotte, a young woman leaves her families home in the county side to meet up with a man in Paris. She encounters problems along the way but luckily finds people kind enough to help her. She ends up staying in a friendly families home once she reaches Paris. After a few days she is ready to go meet up with the man she left home to meet.

She manages to get in to meet him and then comes a major twist in this story! It is shocking but in my opinion, admirable!!

Please take the time to read this short tale-it is so worth it!!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Sometimes things are not as they seem…

In 1793, all the twenty-four-year-old Charlotte desires is to travel the long distance to Paris and visit Him. Despite La Guillotine operating day and night, in spite of her family’s warnings about her being too independent, she has a true mission and will not be deterred. In the end, will everything work out? Will meeting him give her the fulfillment she so craves?

She only knows that when she finally does face him to execute her plan, she will take care to look her most beautiful. For, by doing that, she will assuredly draw him in––and forever change her life. She cannot wait.

Originally entitled, “Him,” in the short story collection, TALES TO COUNT ON, this is an alternative route to a famous event during the French Revolution.

About the Author: (from Amazon)

A USA TODAY Best Selling author and two-time READERS' FAVORITE GOLD MEDAL winner, S. R. Mallery--as her fans say--"brings history to life."

They say I'm as eclectic as my characters. I've been a singer, a composer, a calligrapher, a quilt artist, and an ESL/Reading teacher. But it is the world of writing historical fiction where I feel I've come "home." It's where I've received various awards and in addition, get to do my second love: Research.

When people talk about the news of the day, or when I listen to music, my overactive imagination likens the story to a similar kind of news in the past, which helps me conjure up scenes between characters I've yet to meet.

This looks like a great short story! I live that it takes place in the 1700s.
