As I have stated in past posts I am a semi retired bookkeeper. Some of my clients need their payroll quarterlies done--some do not. Others need the 1099's done. They all need their books brought up to date for their accountants. This is not the most pleasant time of the year for me or any other bookkeeper or accountant! The double pandemic plus flu season is making it infinitely worse!
Just yesterday I was leaving a client and asked if there was a Staples store near him. It was not too far at all so I drove over. It was closed. It had a note on the door that said they were closed because of the health of their employees. Now I totally understand that--but I needed blank w-2 and 1099 forms for Friday and Saturday of this week!!! I felt like crying but decided to just go home instead. Most of the Staples around where I live have gone out of business. I really didn't want to drive miles to find one that was open. I figured I would just go online and have the forms delivered--but would they arrive in time?
Got home and immediately went online to find what I needed. Suddenly as I was at the Staples online site an Instacart popup came on. I have ordered groceries from Instacart and did not realize that they also delivered for other stores as well! AND when I clicked in there not only was I able to find the exact forms in the quantity I needed-BUT they would be able to deliver it in as soon as 2 hours!!
It came as promised and I thanked the delivery person profusely (tips are given when you place and pay for the order) telling him he just saved my life--and my sanity if truth be told!! He smiled and laughed a bit--got back in the elevator and left. Now when I go to those clients this week--I will be at least prepared with the supplies I need!!

That is great. I am glad it worked out for you!
I'm glad you were able to get in in two hours.
Thanks for sharing that. Very interesting that you could get it delivered so quickly.
Unfortunately so many stores are closing. I do love to order online but we don't have instacart here WAHH! Our stores don't even have curbside pick up!
Glad things fell into place!
I'll have to check instacart out
