This is a brand new series and it read like I am definitely going to be looking forward to any others!
Maria and her son lived in a bad section of Las Vegas--but she had grown up there as well so kind of knew when to keep her eyes down. She worked as a maid in one of the casinos. A hard job that did not pay very much but she was happy to have it. She brought up her son alone and did a good job of it--he did not belong to any of the local gangs and even held down a part time job after school to help his Mom out.
Then one day as he was getting off the bus he was shot. He did not make it. Maria was devastated as you can well imagine. The policeman told her he did not hold up much hope for finding the killer. Maria decided to try and find out who did it herself.
Lots of other drama was happening in her family that she had to deal with. She kept going around and asking different people questions. When she was pretty sure she knew who did it--after being mis directed several times--she returned to the policeman and he listened.
What she ends up doing will make your heart pound-----but there is a somewhat happy ending to all this and a clue as to what the next books in this series will be about.

I would do whatever I could without violence.
I would do everything in my power to find the person, without resorting to violence of course.
I hope I would not resort to violence, but I would devote my time to finding the murderer and to do what I could to keep the professionals who are experts at investigating to keep trying to solve it.
I would do whatever I could do to find the person and alert law enforcement.
I think every parent would try to find out who did it. To stop them and put them away.
I definitely would be looking and not wanting to stop until we found the murderer.

That is such a bad scary thought. Of course! I would try everything within the law to find out who took my babies life.

I don't know how I could or would cope if my child was murdered.

I can't even imagine what that would be like. I'm not sure if I'd have the strength to go after the culprits after such a tragedy.
If I saw that the police investigation was going nowhere, or it stalled and it was forgotten I would hire a PI to fact find for me then I would go out there and find the killer by hook or crook.. I would try very hard to maintain calm and level...

I would relentlessly be looking for the murderer and avenge my child's death. I can't say I wouldn't resort to violence - who is to say how I would react if I came face to face with the person who stole my child's life from me.
I would look but couldn't guarantee no violence.
