Charlotte lives in an over 55 community--even though she is much younger. She had lived there with her grandmother and rules were bent to let her stay there! Women 55+ can be very persuasive--and nosy!! Well one day Charlotte decided she wanted a garden instead of the cement patio in her backyard. She hired someone to pull up the concrete, She went out back to start preparing the soil. Her neighbors dog saw her digging and came over to "help". That's when the skelaton of a woman was found!! Of course everyone was gossiping and had to get in the act!
Being single in a world of older females, Charlotte was forever being set up on dates--The owner of one of the stores who owned a store that sold old stuff came over--he was young. Charlotte was interested but he had everyone convinced he was gay so they would leave him alone!!
Turns out this young man's Mom had gone missing years before--He teamed up with Charlotte on not only the hunt for who the woman was but who and why they had murdered her!
You are definitely going to laugh at the escapades they all get into-usually at the instigation of 2 of Charlotte's neighbors!
There are plenty of twists and turns as this mystery is unravelled, and groans and laughs as well!!
About the Book: (from Amazon)
Pineapple Port Mysteries by Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Amy Vansant, is a funny, clean and gore-free small-town, female amateur sleuth series, but with all the pulse-pounding excitement of a detective thriller.
Book #1 of the binge-worthy series, Pineapple Lies, is a twisty puzzler...Solve the mystery before you die laughing!
It's bad enough Charlotte Morgan found a body buried in her back yard—when she discovers the bones belong to the long-missing mom of the hottest guy in town, she knows she's just made the world's worst first impression.
Determined to solve the crime, the 26-year-old becomes an amateur sleuth... even though, after being raised in a 55-plus Florida retirement community, golf-cart racing's usually about as exciting as life gets.
Quips get flung and puns get slung, making for a hilarious read, but even better, Pineapple Port's just a place you want to hang out. The dialog crackles---you'll hear the voices of your own nutty friends and relatives in every conversation. Charlotte's a unique female protagonist, being the only chick, as a friend observes, in a roomful of hens, but Pineapple Port is a wonderful character in itself, possessing its own exotic customs and quirks. People have nicknames like Jenny Teacup (because she collects tea sets), exercise comes in the form of water aerobics, and Poolside Breakfast is a big social event. But beneath this typical Florida retirement community, trouble brews...
Throughout the series, you find serial killers, crazy ex-girlfriends, loving dogs, romance, government operatives, FBI agents, danger... and a cast of characters almost as funny as they are loving, supportive and brave. The series appeals to men and women.
If Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum and the Golden Girls had a baby, it would be the Pineapple Port series!
If you like Jana Deleon, Angie Fox, Leslie Langtry, Susan M. Boyer, Gina-LaManna, Julie Smith or any funny, action-packed mystery, you're about to find your next favorite series.
"Amy is one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend all of her books. No matter what genre she writes in, she manages to create books that demand that the pages be immediately turned to find out what happened, because you really care about the characters." ~ Dianne Harman, USA Today and Amazon Chart #1 Bestselling Author
