Crispin's parents have not come in to see the new library--but they sent his sister to delover 2 paintings which could be hung there. They were done by Dom's Mom who had committed suicide years ago. The paintings had a magical quality to them and Lady wanted to know more. Crispin was also intrigued and began a search for any other paintings. This search took Lady and friends--and ultimately Dom (who was busying himself with painting murals on the walls of the library basement) on some adventures.
This all culminated in Dom finding out about himself with Lady's gentle prodding. Of course at the end it was Lady who was put in the most danger--but no fears--happy if confused endings for all!

About the Book: (from Amazon)
The new Dark Lake library is opening, and Crispin has received something to hang on its walls. They’re paintings. There are two of them, and they are the most arresting pieces of art that Lady has ever seen.
They are also paintings created by Dom’s late mother. It’s without much enthusiasm from him that Lady and her friends set out to find more paintings by Sara Antonie.
Her body of work proves elusive. It’s a hunt that will require learning more about the troubled artist herself as well as the identity of Dom’s absent father.
Tenth Volume of the Dark Lake Chronicles Cozy Mystery Series. This book can be read as a standalone. Reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book (though reading prior volumes first will enhance your experience. There is no cliffhanger ending.
