This is the first time Dianne Harman has written a paranormal cozy mystery to my knowledge. It was great!! And this is just the beginning of a new series.
Miranda got a call that her Mom was missing and had to drive back to the little town of Little Feather to see if she could find her. While looking she found out that the town she grew up in was not exactly as she thought it was--and her Mom was a PI BUT--PI was not what she thought those initials stood for either.
With the help of a witch, a were wolf and various other creatures that she never knew really were real she was finally able to find her Mom!
Her Mom wants to retire and wants Miranda to take over her job--will she? Will she give up her normal life in Las Vegas, stay in Little Feather and take over for her. I guess we will know for certain when the next in the series comes out!! I for one can't wait.
About the Book: (from Amazon)
All it takes is one phone call to change your life.
Miranda Riley is a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas when she receives a call from the police that her mother, Eve, is missing. She rushes home to Little Feather, Oklahoma, hoping to quickly find her mother so she can return to her life in the big city.
But once Miranda begins to search for her, she finds there is much more to Little Feather and her mother than she originally thought. First, the city is an oasis for supernatural creatures, and secondly, her mother was the Paranormal Investigator who kept them all in line.
As a P.I., it was her mother's job to make sure the paranormal creatures stayed out of view from humans and didn't commit any crimes. But now that she's gone that’s changing.
Miranda finds herself caught up in a world she never knew existed. She needs to find her mother before paranormal things get out of hand in Little Feather, and two very attractive men are willing to help her.

I do believe! I love all things paranormal.
I would love to believe in a World like that. Some of my favorite books are Terry Pratchett's DiscWorld series which are incredibly funny and take for granted that all those creatures exist. I think I would love this new paranormal series, too.
Yes- I believe that there are things that we don't necessarily see all of the time. I do enjoy stories like that.
Yes, I believe in ghosts but not werewolves and fairies. I do enjoy a good paranormal story.
Think I am in the same category you are. I'll never say no as most myths are based on at least a fraction of reality but how far off are we? Still a lot of stuff science has yet to explain. New species of organisms are being discovered every day after all.
I believe in the possibility of ghosts.
Have had a few weird experiences.
