Everyone seems to be getting hurt--first Crispin's Dad--then one of Lady's brothers. And to top it all off Otsuya is missing!! This all started happening after the items that Otsuya donated to the old library were transferred to the new one. There is something in that basement--and it is not very nice. It will take all the friends and a couple of the adults to figure it all out, and get rid of it--hopefully. Some of Otsuya's background--before she became a ghost is revealed and she really did have a rough time of it when she was alive!
You really won't want to stop reading this one--it is too darn exciting!!

About the Book: (from Amazon)
Lady is going to miss the old library Crispin used to run. It was beautiful. It had history. All that is in the past now, though. Management changed hands and now Crispin has a new library to open for the town of Dark Lake.
The location is good. The building could be better, but there are plenty of volunteers to get it ready for opening day. Things are really working out! They’re even thinking about renovating the basement… which is when the problems begin.
There’s something lurking in the basement, and it’s violent. Is it a symptom of something else that’s going on in Dark Lake? All Lady knows for sure is that it’s a problem. And when her best friend Otsuya goes missing, that problem only gets bigger.
Volume Eight of the Dark Lake Chronicles. This book is approximately 50,000 words in length. This book can be read as a standalone. Reading prior of future volumes not required to enjoy the book (though reading prior volumes first will enhance your experience). There is no cliffhanger ending.
