Back in the time that this novel takes place women were supposed to be wives and have children and not much else. Emily Dunn happened to have a father that believed his three daughters should form a musical trio--which they did. Only Emily was really any good and truly wanted a solo practice and to become famous. But a trio they were to remain according to her father and none would gainsay him.
Then one fateful evening when the trio was playing Mark Linfield took an interest in her and wanted to help her further her career. So did his uncle. The uncle did not really have Emily's best interests at heart as you will find when you read this novel.
It took a lot of planning and plotting to get her father to allow her to go solo---meanwhile she became fast friends with Mark's sister and made the acquaintance of all others in his ducal household.
Will they ultimately get Emily started on a European tour? Will Emily and Mark finally realize that they were made for each other?
This is a true Regency Romance novel happy ending and all and I loved it!!
