After having read Terrier Transgressions (Pet Whisperer P.I. Book 2) by Molly Firz (see my review here) I knew I had to read Book one in this series to see how it all began!
Two near death experiences which left her with the ability to understand and talk to cats--well one cat at least. This poor kitty knew his beloved mistress had been murdered--so when Angie Russo a paralegal to a law firm, collapsed at the
reading of a will (to which the cat was invited since he was getting the bulk of the money!!) they both realized that they understood each other. Well instead of being taken to a relative's home--Angie convinced them to let her keep him for a while.
Now Octo-Cat (his full name as given by his former mistress is too long to write here) was spoiled rotten--Only Evian Water and Fancy Feast for him and only certain flavors---and he wasn't giving up until his needs were met!! Hum-reminds me of my cat Baby. You gotta love this cat--he was downright ornery at times--then would snuggle up. He even learned to use an I-Pad so that he and Angie could converse while she was at work!
One thing for certain--both he and Angie were bound and determined to find the murderer. They even enlisted Angie's grandmother. Now she is a character-and totally lovable!
Do they finally find the person who killed Octo-Cats mistress? Do they finally come to terms and learn to live together. Will they be allowed to?
This series is definitely a winner--I'm loving it!!
About the Book: (from Amazon)
I was just your normal twenty-something with seven associate degrees and no idea what I wanted to do with my life. That is, until I died… Well, almost.
As if a near-death experience at the hands of an old coffeemaker wasn’t embarrassing enough, I woke up to find I could talk to animals. Or rather one animal in particular.
His full name is Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton, but since that’s way too long for anyone to remember, I’ve taken to calling him Octo-Cat. He talks so fast he can be difficult to understand, but seems to be telling me that his late owner didn’t die of natural causes like everyone believes.
Well, now it looks like I no longer have a choice, apparently my life calling is to serve as Blueberry Bay’s first ever pet whisperer P.I while maintaining my façade as a paralegal at the offices of Fulton, Thompson & Associates.
I just have one question: How did Dr. Doolittle make this gig look so easy?

About the Author: (from Amazon)
While USA Today bestselling author Molly Fitz can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks at the Casa de Fitz.
Molly lives in a house on a high hill in the Michigan woods and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.
Writing her quirky, cozy animal mysteries is pretty much a dream come true, but sometimes she also sometimes goes by the name Melissa Storm (also a USA Today bestselling author, yay!) and writes a very different kind of story.
