So what do you do when unexpected friends drop by --you want to offer them something--but you don't have too much in the house.
I have a couple of suggestions:
First--always have a box or two of Ritz Crackers and Breton Crackers stashed in your pantry! I generally get the low fat Ritz and there is a Gluten Free Breton available!
Second--I ALWAYS have cheese in my house. Have a brick or two and a good cheese slicer available. I love Sharp Cheddar, Swiss, heck I love all cheese!! Of course for guests you could pick up Cabot's pre-sliced cracker size at your local store. I seem to be getting this more and more--perfect for snacking even when there is only just me around!
Third--Either purchase those bagged apple slices or if you have an apple slicer/corer then buy a couple of apples and go for it-DIY!!
Third--Always have the makings for tea, coffee (hot or iced) or maybe a bottle of wine
You could always pick up some of those pre-cut pepperoni slices--cracker-cheese-pepperoni--perfect little snack!!
OR how about cracker-cream cheese and a bit of Nova salmon (they come in bite size pieces also!!)

These are great tips. We like grapes and if I have some I always add them to my cheese and cracker tray. Next time we will try apples as well.
