If you want to know how Lady and her pet cat Lion managed to end up in the town of Dark Lake-read my review of The Lady of Dark Lake, the first in this series here.
Lots of surprises in this one as Lady and her new friends attempt to find out who "possibly" murdered the old very rich witch. Her will stipulated that whoever figured it out would get her entire estate--and it was large. Lady needed the money and Crispin needed some to help with the library. Lady finds out that her best friend is not what she appears to be!! Meanwhile Lady is slowly being indoctrinated into being a witch herself by her land lady!

About the Book: (from Amazon)
Lady and her pet cat Lion have settled into their new life in the town of Dark Lake. Well, they’ve settled in as best they can. A person never gets quite used to the revelation that most everything they knew to be true about the world is a lie. The idea that magic exists and that she’s to be trained as a witch is still a very new concept to Lady!
Magic isn’t all it’s cut out to be either. Even witches have to have day jobs. When a reclusive old woman dies of seemingly natural causes, Lady finds her interest piqued. The old woman has stipulated in her will that her considerable fortune will be left to whoever ferrets out her killer.
With the help of some friends, Lady is on the case! Never mind that the death looks like natural causes, she could use that money. Besides, if there’s one thing she’s learned about Dark Lake, it’s that almost nothing is ever as it initially seems.
Second Volume of the Dark Lake Chronicles Series. Approx. 51,000 words in length. It is a standalone (reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book, no cliffhanger).

I had one http://usabookreviewers.com reader contact me directly on Goodreads saying she wanted to read my book but that they rejected her, which was interesting to hear about the "behind the scenes." I sent a MOBI to her, and she reviewed it pretty quickly, so I count that as a win.
