I have a 95 year young Mom who I constantly worry about---she has one of those alarms that she wears as a bracelet and around her neck--but does she use it--NO. Twice she was in trouble but somehow managed to get to a phone and call 911. According to her it was faster that way--Actually she is probably right. Meanwhile, just about a week ago a very good friend of hers, also 95, was making tea--somehow fell and managed to crawl to his bedroom--he left the gas on!! Luckily some neighbors smelled gas!! But he was on the floor for at least a day. They both are very independent and live alone. He, I should mention does not even have one of those bracelets. His son has just ordered one for him!!
When I read about the TruSense technology--I thought--both of these seniors NEED this!! As far as I can tell all those independent seniors need this. At least it would know if something was not as it should be and contact loved ones fast--as well as ambulances etc!!
If you have elderly but active seniors in your life----I really think you should look into this. Take my word for this--it is no fun being the last to know your Mom or Dad or whoever is in the hospital!!!
About TruSense
TruSense is family-friendly smart home technology for seniors that brings assurance to loved ones and helps older adults stay in their own homes longer. Using in-home sensors, TruSense is non-intrusive and does not require a wearable or pendant to deliver insights into daily activities. The solution also measures variables that can impact health and safety such as home leak detection, temperature and even vehicle and personal GPS tracking. TruSense also tracks caregiver visits and uses alerts and notifications based on customized user thresholds that can trigger a text or notify our 24/7 emergency response team.
If you have older parents or worry about your grandparents, you will appreciate that TruSense seeks to reduce the burden on caregiving family members (that are trying to balance career and children too!) and avoids costly assisted living fees while offering peace of mind. With Assisted living costs in the thousands per month, many families are looking for alternatives that stave off the expense of an assisted living facility while enabling their loved ones to stay at home and retain some independence, while bringing some peace of mind to caregivers and families.
The TruSense system uses a combination of self-sticking wireless sensors, Amazon Echo Dot integration and GPS technology to discern the way a person lives—time spent sleeping, in the kitchen, or getting out of the house. When a pattern shifts, TruSense notices and updates the user and the circle of people who they’ve chosen via custom notifications. It can even notify the 24/7 emergency monitoring center through a voice integration with the Amazon Echo Dot. TruSense can also report how much time caregivers or other visitors spend in the home (something that can become sticky when they bill at a high hourly rate).
