Along with Cookies--Fruit Pies don't last long in my immediate vicinity. Since I can not bake worth a darn (my Mom and doctor's are heaving a sigh of relief) Being single--can't buy a whole pie (I'd eat it all too quickly)--thus am always looking for individual pies. There is one that comes in a small brown box-it even is in an aluminum pie tray. I have found it in a couple of supermarkets and one or two somehow end up in my shopping cart. My favorites are APPLE and PUMPKIN. I usually end up with APPLE or LEMON (yup-love that too) because Pumpkin seems to be only made seasonally.
Well, once in a while a different brand hits my eye and shopping cart--like today for instance (Sunday). They were on sale and 2 of those HOSTESS FRUIT PIE-APPLE made it not only into my shopping cart--but all the way home. I sometimes snack as I'm driving! Just finished one of them right now--YUMMY. I just turned over the box to check out the calories, etc-------OUCH--but oh so worth it.

I love them and the other flavors also. I try very hard not to eat them, but I keep them on hand for the grand children. For some reason they can never find any lemon ones. At home they are on a strict allowance of sugar, at grandmas a fruit pie now an then never hurt anyone. They were my father's first choice for a grab N' go snack, the whole box this is. Break time, lunch time.
Along with a cup of coffee, Hostess fruit pies are a wonderful indulgence! I have loved them ever since I can remember! Thanks for sharing!
