Life is Good Tour Coming To Your City to Help Kids in Need & #GROWtheGood (Tour Ends Late Oct)

Sunday, September 13, 2015

I only wish I could go to NYC when this event is there--so in lieu of that I decided I would promote this on my 65th birthday! I have always and still truly believe that every child in America and around the world deserves the best that we all can give them. No child should be hungry, or homeless or cold or lacking in the necessities of a good life. I think I need to go and buy this book as a present to myself--or maybe one of the tee shirts. Heaven knows I can not take a photo! So why don't you check to see what day the Life is Good van may be visiting your town. If you can't attend there is still something all you photo bugs can do!

"Optimists anywhere can #GROWtheGood by snapping a photo and telling the world something good that happened today. For each #GROWtheGood moment shared on Twitter or Instagram, Life is Good will provide one dollar of support to help kids in need. The tour and #GROWtheGood can be followed at lifeisgood.com/thetour."

Life is Good® Founders Hit the Road on First-Ever Nationwide Optimism Tour

8 weeks, 40 communities, 3,000 miles to #GROWtheGood and help raise over $1 million for kids in need

Boston, MA (Sept. 8, 2015) – Optimistic lifestyle brand Life is Good® announced today the kickoff of its first-ever Life is Good Tour – an eight-week experience rallying communities nationwide to #GROWtheGood by focusing on the good in the world and supporting kids who need it most. Traveling in a custom designed Airstream® trailer, the road trip, led by brothers and Life is Good founders Bert and John Jacobs, will visit more than 40 communities across America throughout fall 2015 to help people discover, embrace and spread optimism. The tour comes on the heels of the successful release of Life is Good: The Book: How to Live with Purpose and Enjoy the Ride (National Geographic Books).

“After several years on the road, broke and about to give up on our t-shirt business, John and I had a realization that would forever change the course of our lives, and would ultimately ignite our brand,” said Bert Jacobs, Co-founder Life is Good. “The time we spent selling t-shirts across the country, out of our old minivan, allowed us to meet and connect with amazing people, some who had overcome incredible adversity. We realized that life isn’t easy, and life isn’t perfect -- but life is good. Our fall road trip for optimism will be a chance to #GROWtheGood in the communities and connect with the people that gave us our start.”

During the road trip, Life is Good will help to raise over $1 million to support kids in need, partnering with organizations including Pencils of Promise, Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys & Girls Club through the WorldVentures Foundation, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Born This Way Foundation and Zac Brown’s Camp Southern Ground. In addition to charity events, the Life is Good Tour will visit schools, parks, beaches, sporting events and more, engaging the community in #GROWtheGood experiences including surprise concerts, interactive photo booths, fundraisers, group games, random acts of kindness, book signings and an 8-foot-tall Gratitude Jar filled over the course of the tour with messages of thanks. Official tour t-shirts and other merchandise will be for available for sale, with 100% of net profits going back to help kids who are overcoming the impact of violence, poverty and illness.

“Life is Good is, and always has been, a purpose driven company,” said Life is Good Co-founder John Jacobs. “The tour is a continuation of our purpose: to affirm life and help kids in need. It’s about more than just monetary donations, it’s an opportunity for us to be on the ground, supporting and connecting with communities across the country, from donating musical instruments in New Orleans, to building a basketball court in Long Beach to sponsoring a run/walk through the San Francisco Zoo.”

The tour commences this week and will conclude late October in Boston. Some of the Tour stops include:

I met Bert & John at a blogger event that they held at their house, above the first Life is Good store in Boston when I first started blogging. They are the nicest two guys I have ever met. This tour sounds awesome.

This is a great campaign for a cause. There are so many children around the world who are hungry and can't go to school. I hope this tour gets a lot of support, so they can help many children.
