This is a very short novella which introduces the reader to The Late Bloomers series. It is about 5 friends in their 40's all unmarried or in one case about to be divorced. It is New Year's Eve and they are all out at a restaurant in NYC just having a good time and discussing their lives. Is it too late for these women, who originally chose careers over love to get a second chance? From what I read--I don't think so--but then I will have to read the rest of the series to find out!!
About the Book: (from Amazon)
It's New Year's Eve, and Lily is feeling anything but festive.
Lily Lang has just discovered at the age of forty that she can't have it all. Her career with Doctors Without Borders is rewarding but consuming, and her recent divorce proves it. As she announces the bad news to her best friends over dinner on New Year's Eve, she's on the verge of giving up on love forever.
Will a chance encounter on the roof just restore her faith in finding the yin to her yang? Handsome Simon certainly hopes so.
This is a Late Bloomers Series short story and includes all five main characters from the series.
About The Late Bloomers Series: After a lifetime of friendship bordering on sisterhood, five 40-something women from Arizona each embark on their own adventures in love, travel, and discovery around the globe. Oh this book sounds just perfect for me right now! I wish I could read through a Kindle. This whole series may in fact be great for me to read. I'm past my forties but not too far that I can't still enjoy life. This short story seems like a great way to get into the series. Women can do anything they want to if they try hard enough or so I try to tell myself. Thanks for sharing!
I always say that 40 is the new 20! I am just getting started, too :)
More books for you to enjoy then!! How lovely that their in their 40's, sounds like something we all would enjoy. I'm the same as Gladys I don't read through a kinlde for me it's old fashioned printed books.
I believe Jay-Z said that '30's the new 20' so 40 must be the new 30! Sounds like a good read, and I believe that no matter what path you take you can't have it all. There is only so much time in a day!
Sounds like the main characters are right in my wife's age bracket. I'll bet she would enjoy the read.
I love that this is a romance series. It is also great that it is about women who are closer to my age.
It is great to see a book like this about women in their 40s!
I appreciate having characters I can relate to in the books that I read. It's great to know there are choices like these women. Can't wait to read the whole series.
I love the story, sounds like a great book, I added to my must read list! Thank you for sharing it!
What a great preface to this series! I sounds like a great read! Thanks for the review!
