As if everyone didn't know I am all about books, reading and literacy--for both children and adults!! Although admittedly my favorite genre is Historical Romance I also love Medical Mysteries and Cozies and Suspense Mysteries and Thrillers, the back of boxes, the news even children's or young adult books on occasion. About the only genre I really just do not like is erotica-don't even get me started on the Grey tie book!! Well at any rate I was sent a Children's Cook Book recently and I decided to put the review up with this giveaway! And Here We Go:
Every boy and girl should really be taught how to cook!! This simple children's cookbook will not only help you put your children on the road to their eventual independence but will be a great bonding experience for all of you. My Mom was not much of a cook--but my Dad sure was--and as for his Mom--well I spent many happy hours in her kitchen learning how to make (and eat) home made whipped cream, pies and sometimes she would let me help her season that delicious roast beef she made. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My Mom's Mom was all about salads--fruit and veggie and setting the perfect table! She had a philosophy we should all adhere to " Eat to Live--Don't Live to Eat". She also made the most delicious stuffed cabbage--and although I don't remember watching her when I make it now it taste exactly like hers did.
I love that the recipes in this volume of the authors cookbook series are simple with easy to follow instructions. She even has the measurements in both metric and ounces (which in my case REALLY helps)-so no matter where in the world you live you will be able to measure correctly. She also lists all the utensils, food items etc needed and the safety precautions that should be taken. So what are you waiting for? Your children will love standing by your side and learning how to cook for themselves!

About the Author: (from Amazon)
Born in Zimbabwe, Africa I was fortunate and privileged enough to have had several years of cooking with my granddaughter Imogen who enjoyed cooking. Before she could even stand she was stirring pots from my arms.
I take pleasure in writing these books for "Imsi" in memory of our early years together.
We spent many enjoyable hours in the kitchen and I have no doubt she will one day be a Great Cook. We came from Africa where fresh healthy locally grown fruits, vegetables and meats were readily available grown and ripened in the natural unspoiled gardens and farms with a large percentage of organic growing and production.

I never learned how to cook as a child and it's caused some "hiccups" for me as an adult. I don't want the same for my kids and this book looks like it would got a long way to helping them be proficient in the kitchen. Thank you so much for letting me know about this book.
We've both been in this industry for some time and it's such a pleasure to team up with you and share a piece of ourselves with each of our followers.

I reside in Western, NY. This area is known for many farm fresh foods although, only in season so the winters we are left with store bought unless you can or freeze. I love the fresh fruits and vegetables. Strawberries just finished being harvested. My granddaughter and I froze quite a few containers for winter. There is nothing better than a belling warming dinner finished with strawberries (unsweetened) and whip topping or a fresh fruit smoothie in January. I must go check out this book for her it sounds like something she would love. Thanks for sharing!
My grandmother tried to teach me how to cook when I was a child. This seems like a great book.
I'm in New York, it's a great place to live and enjoy all 4 seasons.
I live in Virginia.
I never learned to cook when I was little - but I teach my boys every day. They will never grow up like me, unable to create in the kitchen unless it's a cupcake!
I didn't learn to cook until I was 25 and I have not stopped yet! I was born to be a baker I always joke! This looks to be a good book that I will have to see if I can get my hands on!
My 10 year old loves to cook. I should get him this cookbook - he'd love it.

My kids love to help when I'm cooking or baking. I'm sure they will love this book.
My youngest, he's 14, is really into cooking given the chance of doing it. He loves all parts, the cooking, the waiting for them to bake and the eating part, especially that! There's nothing better than to see children enjoying making things and sometimes using their own finishing touches.
My youngest loves to have his own cookbooks to choose recipes from. He is going to love this. We both love spending time in the kitchen!
This sure would be a great book to use with little ones! My daughter loves to cook. She cooks much more than I do these days! My mom cooked a lot but nothing too exotic. We had lots of roasts and spaghetti!
I'm in the lovely state of Florida! Right now, it's just HOT. Temps in the 90's, feels-like temps in the 100's. But the beach is fantastic either way! :)
We got our girls started by getting them a kids cookbook like this! They read it cover to cover!
I love to cook and have been cooking since I was a child. It is very important for me that the kids learn to cook as well. It takes 2 times longer but I know when they move out they will not be eating Kraft Dinner. Thanks for the great review:)
Cooking can be so relaxing sometimes and I loved working on new recipes with the kids. This cookbook sounds like a great one to have around.
My Grandson loves to cook. He gets this proud look on his face when we tell him how good his creation tastes.
I wish I would have spent more time in the kitchen when my girls were younger. This looks like a really great cookbook to encourage a love of cooking.
Great giveaway. I can't cook without a cookbook!

Every child should be taught how to cook. Not only does it make them want to eat different foods, but you can get a little math and learning in there too.
Awwww I love the idea of teaching kiddos how to cook!! I can't wait to teach my daughter when she's slightly older. This cookbook sounds fantastic
I think there's a lot of bonding that can happen in the kitchen. It may be from learning a recipe or trying out new stuff.

I'm really intrigued by that cookbook...I myself have published an online cookbook for babies! Now that my kids are toddlers the next step would be to publish one about getting them in the kitchen too!
Definitely need to check out this cookbook see how many recipes are similar to those we have in zambia (Zimbabwe's neighbour).
This sounds like a great beginner cook book for children and I do thing kids should learn to cook along with baking. I was taught how to bake and cook by my mom, dad, aunt, and my grandmother. My grandma was Italian so she did a lot of baking bread and cooking meatballs which were all so delicious. I have to brag a little because I am the only one in the family that mastered my grandmothers spaghetti sauce. :D This I will have to share with my sister for her kids. Thanks for sharing.
Good luck to all participants! Love this giveaway!
I'm in my adopted state of North Carolina. For now. It's never really felt like home for me, so we'll see how much longer I'm here.
