This is the third and final book in the King Trilogy. If at all possible it was better then the first two which I loved. Again the action is non stop and at times heart stopping! The events of 911 figure prominently in this novel. A company, with the exception of 4 people is decimated. Corporate intrigue, all too common in our investment world interspersed with corporate greed and shenanigans will have you thinking twice about putting your hard earned money onto investments. Kelli King, the President of the decimated company wants to help all the families--she has the means and against all odds finally rids her family of the ill gotten gains of Servito, her father's wife's first husband. I have just completed this third tale of the King Family. These books are rare. While the characters in all three thread together, each book is a totally singular narrative. The plot lines are complex yet the author's strength, and this is a rare talent, is keep you in the loop, even if an event he is referencing happened decades in the past and you haven't read another of the King saga.

All three are well written and keep your attention in every chapter. Douglass has a firm command of the financial and commodities markets, and the legal system. His dialogs are real. He paints great scenes and portrays action well.

If you enjoy a rich read with a genuine sense of the realities the characters inhabit then these three novels will not disappoint.

You are about to read the story of a thirty-three year old woman who chose to go to war with the greed and avarice of big business, the overwhelming power of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, and a billion dollar shareholder lawsuit against her. Simultaneously, she chose to fall in love with a man who was engaged to marry another woman.

Born and raised in Canada, Stephen spent the first half of his career working for the two largest oil companies in the world: Exxon and royal Dutch Shell. He spent the second half working for one of the smallest oil companies in the world; his own. Now retired, he spends his summers with his wife, Ann, at their Canadian home near Niagara Falls. He winters at their Florida home in Port St. Lucie. When he is not writing, he is reading, traveling, or playing bad golf. He plans to write until the day he dies, probably longer.

For Stephen, writing was an accident.
