Book Review-Promise You Won't Tell? (A Dani Ripper Novel Book 2)-John Locke

This book definitely is not for everyone. The language and subject matter might offend some. Personally I did not find it too offensive, more worrisome then anything else. The subject matter is definitely for adults--do not let your teens read this one. It goes into some graphic detail about what happens to a girl at a party. There is a total twist at the end which I found intriguing. I just hope I never meet any teens like these!! I think I may try one of this authors other series "Donavan's Creed" which are thrillers and possibly more to my taste.

About the Book: (from Amazon)

“I think something might have happened to me Saturday night. Something bad.”

Private Investigator Dani Ripper’s client list is nuttier than the Looney Tunes conga line, but she diligently solves one crazy case after another, waiting for a game-changer.

Enter Riley Freeman, 17-year-old honor student.

Saturday afternoon Riley quietly placed a little strawberry sticker on her private area and pretended it was a tattoo. She didn’t tell anyone about it. That night she went to a slumber party that featured drinking and boys. Riley fell asleep, woke up the next day with no reason to think anything happened…

…Until Monday, at school, when a classmate called her Strawberry.

Coincidence or crime? Dani agrees to investigate. And the roller coaster ride begins.

I appreciate your honest review. I have a hard time reading this type of content sometimes, so I appreciate the warning. I am intrigued by the author though. Thank you for sharing!

I'm not even sure what my book-type is these days as I rarely get as much time to read as I would ideally like, but I would give this one a go. I think sometimes you hae to take some of the more uncomfortable stories in order to give a little scope so I might look for this one, thanks,

Thanks for the warning. Definitely won't be letting my girls get a hold of this one.

If there's a total twist at the end, that sounds like my kind of reading!

I love your reviews. If you say it's good, then it usually is. As a mother I have a hard time reading about sexual abuse in general, but to young girls in particular.

Maybe I am different, but this is the type of book I would let my teen read. I don't want to shelter her from the harsh realities of the world, but let her know exactly what can happen when she puts herself in less than ideal situations. Others probably won't agree with that kind of parenting, but I've had her call me to come pick her up early from 2 different parties because she knew they weren't situations she wanted to be in. If it takes reading a book like this to get through to her, I am all for it.

John Locke is very well known in the self publishing world, although I have never read any of his work.

This isn't really my type of book but sounds interesting for those that like to read this type. I have 3 daughters so I would have to hide it!

I think I would let my oldest son to read this. The parts I read sound like a news headline at a college party and the bad things they do.
