Book Review - Phantom Panthers - David Shultz

Friday, May 16, 2014

This book begins as a WWII story of two friends who both drive tanks for the Nazi regime. It describes how towns are decimated by both sides. When the town and families of these two are destroyed they are inducted into the Teutonic knights. Only one young daughter survives and she is taken in by a neighbor. This is when things start to get really strange-------

I'm still trying to figure out whether or not I like this book. It is definitely well written and the plot is easy to follow so I will give it a 5. I think perhaps this is a book geared towards men but I could be wrong-I have been before!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

“Phantom Panthers” Is A SyFy Action Adventure Story

Two World War II German Panther tanks that have been ordained with the Order of the Teutonic Knights are liberated from a watery mausoleum. In an Occult ritual administered by the top-secret Geheimnisvolle Korps gives them supernatural powers that make them impervious to harm. If the Phantom Panthers do not partake in the Ritual of Resurrection, their super natural power could result in an international incident that could be the start of World War III.

I love reading books like this even though I'm not a huge war fan, for some reason books about wars or that take place during wars intrigue me.

This book sounds interesting and I may have to read it. I always loved hearing about my grandfather in the military and that is one of the reasons I had joined the Army. Thanks for the information.

I am not one to really pick up war related books, but I do like that this has a supernatural twist to it. Might be worth a read.

Sounds like the author know what he's writing about. But I think you're right, it might be a bit too male book for me.

This sounds like an interesting book a bit out of my comfort zone. I like to change things up a bit from time to time though, so I might check it out.

Perhaps you are right. Many men seem to enjoy this type versus perhaps a chicklit :)

I can't help but to think about Life Is Beautiful and the impact that movie had in my life. Concentration camps were so sad, and to think that some people, including children, in the world are still being mistreated. It breaks my heart!

I like books that incorporate history into them. This would probably be a really fascinating read being that the setting is WWII!
