Book Review-Catnapped (A Klepto Cat Mystery)-Patricia Fry

Every once in a while I decide to purchase a book just because I want to--I truthfully don't remember if I read a review on another blog or not. As most of you know I love animals-all animals-and am owned by a cat at the moment. If I am not mistaken I think this type book is what is called a "cozy". It was delightful and I read it in about 2 hours from start to finish!

It has all the requisite parts, girl is in a bad relationship and goes to help her eccentric Aunt who broke her foot. The Aunt is involved in lots of things but mostly having to do with cats. Cats are disappearing from their owners homes-------mystery has to be solved! Girl meets boy--can't decide-leaves eventually -does she return? And of course the klepto cat!!

This really was a cute book and I will be getting a couple more in this series if only to find out what happens between the boy and the girl and of course what other objects klepto cat manages to steal that eventually saves the day!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

When Savannah Jordan agrees to help her aunt while she recovers from a broken foot, she doesn’t expect to walk into a mystery, become part of a not-quite-legal surveillance team, be kidnapped by a deranged stranger and meet a steaming hot veterinarian. Beloved neighborhood cats are missing—the community can only guess at their fate—and Aunt Margaret’s life is being threatened. Is it because she has a clue to the missing cats or is it something more sinister?

If you like light mysteries with only a little terror, if you’re infatuated by interesting cats and if you love a love story, you must read this book.

It sounds like a cute story, but is it a kids book? It almost sounds like it based on the description - you know, like a Hardy Boys level?

It is so nice sometimes to just read a fun book. This sounds like a book that won't keep you up with nightmares all night.

I like that it's a regular story line to start with so the reader can relate. That's my favorite kind of intro to a story.

Sounds like a delightful book. I haven't read a book I can finish in 2 hours as yet and I'm sure my daughter may enjoy this as well. Will have to share with her.

I use to be a cat lover. I still do love cats but as I got older I am just not interested in owning any pets. I have a child... That is more then enough for me! =) haha.

I love books but haven't been able to find the right book to bring me back to reading. This does sound like good though!

Thank you Michele for the great review and to the rest of you for the wonderful comments. The Klepto Cat Mystery series is 4 books-strong now--Catnapped, Cat-Eye Witness, Sleight of Paw and Undercover Cat--in that order. While there is a progression in the story throughout the series, each book can stand alone. These are adult cozy mysteries. I don't mean that there is necessarily adult material in them, but they are designed for adults. As the author, I did not write them with children in mind--although the covers are quite charming.
Thanks again for your interest.
