This is one book I am not likely to ever forget. I finally read the truth about Cuba, the Bay of Pigs and the rise of Fidel Castro. It was at a time when Gorbachev was the head of the USSR and Ronald Reagan was President. It was a frightening time in the history books and the Cuban people took the brunt of the trouble. They came to Miami in droves and are still to this day trying to liberate their home land from oppression.
According to the front page of the book along with publisher information etc this is written:
"Many of the episodes described in this novel were based on actual events, particularly those in the story that take place in Cuba.
The views expressed in this novel are not necessarily those of the United States Military Academy, the US Army, or the United States Government.
This is a work of fiction. The main character, Atcho, and his daughter, Isabel, are based on the author’s family members. All other characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental."
This is the story of a brave and courageous man who wanted nothing more then to find his daughter and then keep her safe! Only the moon truly witnessed all.
If I could give this book higher then a 5 I would--it deserves a 10 in my opinion. There is another book in this series which I will be grabbing as soon as it is published!!
Lee Jackson Brings Heat To The Cold War.
His code-name is Atcho. He leads guerrilla fighters through the US-supported insurgency that rages at the Bay of Pigs in the early days of Fidel Castro’s Cuba. Captured and cast into the island’s worst dungeons, Atcho learns that a phantom-like officer of the Soviet KGB shadows him. Inexplicably released from incarceration and still dedicated to his country, he battles through the bowels of the Kremlin in Moscow, into the granite halls at West Point, and finally to highest levels in Washington, DC. Atcho’s rise opens doors into US National Defense even as the seemingly omniscient KGB officer holds unflinching sway over his actions. His public life clashes with secrets that only he and his tormentor share, isolating him in a world of intrigue among people whom he is determined not to betray – and then he finds that he is the trigger that could spark thermonuclear war.Buy the Book from........

Seeing how you rated this book, I bet this is a great read!
Historical fiction is the best kind of fiction, in my eyes. I like the history peppered in such stories, it makes it more visual for me.
My husband loves this type of book. Definitely something he'd enjoy.
Happy Reading!

Sounds like a great book! Thanks for sharing the book info and giveaway, too. :)
My guess would be Cuba, but its very unclear as to where he is from since it doesn't exactly say where he is from but instead where he travels to. Sounds like a decent book :)
I'm a big, BIG reader, but I will admit that I've been having trouble finding the time lately. This sounds really interesting though, and right up my alley. Looks like I'm starting a new reading list. :D
