This is the story of a brand new teacher attempting to find her way in an inner city school. The principal is a guy from literally hell who really gives her a tough time. The kids-well-lets just say they are a challenge until she finally figures out how to reach them. She lives with 2 other teachers who are her best friends-and sometimes her worst enemies. Carolyn Jenkins needs to find herself!
When Carolyn meets up with an older man in a bar one evening she is in love-but doesn't trust herself enough. She does get rid of the boyfriend of many years thankfully. She meets his six nutty as fruitcake sisters and breaks up with Mr. Right but is miserable. One of her roomies is now engaged and she is not talking to the other. Can anything go right in her life?
YES-and if you are sentimental (which I am) tears should be flowing at the happy ending. I read this book very quickly-I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next. Kathleen Shoop has written a book which will resonate with many readers on many different levels. 5 Star-Definitely!
For every woman who wonders if she chose the right career
Carolyn Jenkins strives for two things–to be the greatest teacher ever and to find true love. She’s as skilled at both as an infant trying to eat with a fork. Carolyn’s suburban upbringing and genuine compassion for people who don’t fit effortlessly into society are no match for weapon-wielding, struggling students, drug-using colleagues, and a wicked principal.
Meanwhile, her budding relationship with a mystery man is thwarted by his gaggle of eccentric sisters. Carolyn depends on her friends to get her through the hard times, but with poverty-stricken children at her feet and a wealthy man at her side, she must define who she is.
The reality of life after college can be daunting, the road to full-fledged adulthood long and unscripted. Can Carolyn take control and craft the existence she always wanted?

If I had to choose, it would definitely be my career path because I am already married to the perfect man for me. This sounds like a very good read.
I bet a lot of people will be able to relate to this book. So many people come out of college and aren't ready for what's ahead. It sounds like a great read!
I do like the sound of this one, I would probably be crying too !!
If I had to choose, I would for sure choose the perfect man over a perfect career. Or so I think!!
Perfect man. A job is just a job. Having a companion is way more important.
There is nothing perfect, but I have not had good success with men in my life. I'd choose the career.
Inner city schools are tough, even for those with a good heart. Of course inner city schools NEED people with a good heart in there doing all they can, but that doesn't make the struggle any less real (for everyone). It sounds like a great storyline!
Sounds like a great book! I dread making choices because we have to live with the choices we make for the rest of our lives, right? But if I have to, then I would choose career at this point because I already have a loving family who will support me through thick and thin and I know they will be there for me for support.
Thanks so much for everyone's thoughtful ideas re: career and love and schools! It is an infinite gift to hear what you all think! Thank you.
This sounds like a book I would enjoy reading. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity! I hope I am one of the winners.
This book sounds like such a fantastic read. I could see myself easily getting lost in the pages.
This sounds like such an interesting book. I worked in inner-city schools for a bit myself so I could relate to this story.
This sounds like a book that a lot of women can relate to. I know I can. I often wonder where I would be right now had I not chose my current path.
I love books like this! Just from the cover I was certain I would like it, but after reading your teaser there is no doubt! Adding to my nook list!
Sounds like an interesting book! I'm sure my sister-in-law would love this book.
You got me all hooked with the tears flowing at the end statement. You always describe books so nicely.
this book sounds really good and i'm in for the Gift card
I would love to read this one, it is exactly the type of book I enjoy. I have to find out what the happy ending is and see if it ever gets easier for her at the school.
This sounds like a very good book to read! I love a book that you just want to read all the way through to the end without stopping.
This sounds like a great read and one I'm sure a lot of people can relate to. My sister is a teacher at a school with mostly low income families and it's a tough situation
This seems to be a really inspiring book!
Sounds like the character has lots of challenges to overcome in this book. Nice book to read on how to be brave.
Those look like great books to read. I love stories like that.
I love the fact that she is taking the time out to define who she is. Sounds like a great read.
I would take the career. I don't believe in the perfect man.

Oh dear, if tears will be flowing, then I can't read this LOL I cry at EVERYTHING!
I just bought the Kindle version!! (and perfect man is my answer)
Career. I'm 25, never been in a relationship longer then 4 months, never been in love. I have my kids & they're all I need. A career would get me a lot father in life then a guy will.
& My perfect career/dream job is to be a meteorologist / Storm Chaser. I've wanted to be one since I was 5.
I would chose the perfect man I think lol Thanks for the giveaway!
That's a tough question. I think I would pick the perfect man.
