If you have ever been owned by dogs or cats or a combination of both you will appreciate this book. I just finished it and have tears in my eyes. It brought back such wonderful memories of all the characters who shared my life. And they were characters!!
This book is written from the heart and you will laugh and cry and sometimes cringe at the antics these dogs pulled--and as friendly as they all were--well beware the intruder! I am positive that the invisible fence was a god send to the Boswells--although I know for a fact one of my dogs would have figured a way around it! Heck he escaped by digging his way under a fence at a vets office and appeared magically at our door! I would get a call from his usual vet (he was forever having to stay over because he would eat or do something that required an overnight stay) the minute he was feeling better. While sick he was the perfect patient--as soon as he would deem himself healed--out came the teeth!!
For all you animal lovers out there-you know-the one's who don't care if there is fur all around you and you don't particularly care if things get knocked over-and will remind guests who the actual occupants of your home are-and love puppy and kitten breath-and having a warm cuddly body to snuggle with-read this book!

About the Author
Award Winning Author, Barbara Brunner grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with her parents, sister and always a dog, or two or three. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from a small women's college in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Meeting her husband in Washington, DC, they continued together on a journey as self-proclaimed dog addicts. In the ensuing years, she founded three successful businesses in the Pacific Northwest and is a prolific fundraiser for breast cancer research. She and her husband are retired and now reside in Southwest Florida with two dogs and copious amounts of dog fur. She is currently working on indulging her well known flip flop addiction.

This book sounds really cute. We are actually getting a new dog today, so the timing is perfect.
I read this book last year and it was by far my favorite book. I still talk about it and recommend it to others.
I miss having animals but there is no way right now that I would want to own one. This book does sound great but I am afraid if I read it.... I will want another dog.
I needed that invisible fence. My Maltese ran out of our yard 3 times and each time I had to pick him up at the Humane Society and each time they charged me an arm and a leg. The 4th time he did it I surrendered him. The kids didn't mind either. My Shih-Tzu is so different. I love books about animals and all the things they do. Between him and my cat I can write a novel as well. :)
Lol, living with fur everywhere even though you only just hoovered and think getting knocked over are certainly a daily event in our house, I love this book !
Just reading the title made me smile.. :) My dog Danny slobbers so much while he is hiding under the dinner table... His drool will be in a long string all the way to the floor... disgusting, but funny! I will have to check this book out!

I would definitely appreciate this book because I have always had pets and they certainly have their own distinct personalities. They are their own unique characters.
There's not enough books like this about a pet. Dogs def have personalities which led them into some humorous situations. This books seems like a great read.
