Thank you everyone for visiting and entering this contest and I hope to see you all back real soon--lots of giveaways still in progress and lots more to come!
As you all know ever since I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes I have been on a constant search for foods that won’t cause my sugar levels to spike. What you might not know is I still have a SWEET TOOTH which drives me crazy-I simply crave sweets especially since I really should not be eating them anymore. I walk through the stores at this time of year and all that Halloween candy is drawing me over and bringing tears to my eyes because I can not buy it-----Well if you do not have diabetes, and you have a sweet tooth like mine- then you really should watch your sugar intake so you don’t end up with it. And if you are trying to lose weight---sugar is unfortunately the enemy!
When I heard the NuNaturals was looking for bloggers to try out their products and they were diabetic friendly I jumped on it. I received 9 2oz bottles of their NuStevia liquids in various flavors, a 100 pack box of the NuStevia Individiual serving size, 2 oz of Lo Han Liquid and 1 lb of the presweet Tagatose powder.
“ NuNaturals Stevia products are the sweet delicious way to reduce sugar and carbohydrates in your diet! These superior dietary supplements are the best tasting Stevia products available. The products are 100% Natural, DO NOT contain Aspartame, Saccharin, Sucralose, High Fructose Corn Syrup or any artificial ingredients/colors. The NuStevia products are FOS free which eliminates potential digestive problems AND they are Gluten Free, and contain no Soy, Yeast, Wheat, Milk, synthetics—they are not genetically modified. These all natural products are from sustainable agriculture assisting in making a healthy Earth”
The first thing I did was use one of the individual packs in my coffee—YUM—this is the best Stevia I have ever tasted-and I only needed one pack. Then I tried the Nustevia Vanilla (alcohol free) in my second cup of the day. These liquids come in a bottle with a dropper which makes it easy-I put in three ½ dropperfuls—loved the taste but think I might actually only need 2 dropperfuls. I have also tried The Nustevia Cherry Vanilla liquid. I added it (3 - ½ dropperfuls) to a 16 oz glass of plain seltzer—HEAVEN.
Well, so far what they say about the Stevia products in the promotional papers they sent me was TRUE. they also sent a slew of recipes! I kept looking at the tagatose and wondered how I could try it out—and what it was exactly—I hit the recipes. Now I am not a baker and truthfully have never totally followed a recipe in my life. But I figured I could make a variation of the sugar free apple pie.
I had 6 mini pie tins, some apples that were given to me by a friend who picked them off a tree. I purchased a can of Pam-butter flavor and biscuit dough that can be rolled out whichever way you want (one of those in the refrigerator section). I did not roll out the dough—I simply cut it into slices—pushed the slice into the Pam sprayed tin so the bottom and some of the sides was covered. Diced up an apple—put some into each on top of the dough (some had more some less). Now here is where I actually semi followed the recipe—making the sauce. I figured that since I was not making a 9” pie I would halve the recipe—In a saucepan I melted ¼ stick of butter (no salt) then added-approx 1 ½ tablespoons of flour and 2 ½ tablespoons of the Tagatose powder—whisked it all together and spooned some over each of the apple filled mini tins. I still had some dough left so I cut it into six strops and put a strip over the center of each of the times. I put them into an approx 392 degree oven and let bake for I think ½ hour—I actually smelled when it was finished. What I ended up making was apple filled biscuits and they were delicious-I could not tell that this was sugar free!! Sorry, no pictures--one of these days--You can find all recipes here.
So what is this Tagatose—I asked and this is what they said
“This ALL-NATURAL products is derived from fruit, vegetables, and dairy products but no allergens from the dairy.”
The Lo Han liquid (derived from Monk Fruit) is the only one I have yet to try—but I will be soon!

That is so wonderful! So many people could benefit from this product. What a great find, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing a comprehensive review. My Grandmother is a diabetic too so i am always on the lookout for these type of products. Will sure check this one
Gonna have to get my Mother in law some of this to try! She's diabetic and not loving the lack of sugar in anything! Gotta love the South where we have to have sugar in everything!
Thanks for a great review and for sharing this product. I'm a traditionalist, but my mom uses stevia. I'll pass the info along.
What a great sounding product - I have a few friends who are diabetic and they all like to have something sweet every now and again I shall have to tell them about this :) x
We have a history of Diabetes and my father died on it, thank you for sharing this review because now I can make recommendation for this product whenever a friend or family needs solution and better yet I can try it on my own to fully state what is the effect of this product.
My dad is a diabetic. I will have to let him know about this. very interesting!! thanks for the info!!
I'm not diabetic, but I use Stevia myself. Love that it has zero calories and complements my diet regimen. :)
I am not a diabetic but it runs in my family. I have been in love with Stevia since I first tried it years ago. I had not however seen the vanilla added. I have to try that, And the discount coupon makes it that much better.
I love natural ingredients and try and use them all the time. This one sounds wonderful.
I am so happy you found this because like you I am a huge sweet tooth
Wow I can see Halloween would be my arch enemy!!!!
Take care!
My mom just got diagnosed with diabetes, this sounds like a great alternative!
great product off to check it out
I really liked their products and grateful that they sent me a lot to enjoy!
These products look great. I'm not sure why I didn't think of them being good for diabetics before!
Great information here. Thank you. What I like best? Wow where do I start? I love the options and choices NuNaturals gives you. Not only the line to help control Sugar and not feel deprived but also the recipes to help you with the product line.
There are so many new sweeteners that I am reading about all the time. Thank you for sharing this information. This product was new to me.
I used my Tagatose Sweetener for my cookies and it was good. Exactly the right amount of sugar I needed for my recipe. I just got my NuNaturals and I am excited to explore more and learn about incorporating the products to cooking or baking. :)
I'm glad you found something that helped you still get a sweet treat without it being bad for you. They sound very interesting and I like the addition of Vanilla into it. I was once sent some Stevia alone to try, and I have to admit it made my coffee more sour than sweet. I have no idea why but ever since then I have stayed away from it.
I have tried stevia as a replacement of sugar, and I liked it!
Between my daughter's tumor a year ago, my husband's back pain and me being pregnant, trying to avoid blood sugar spikes is a part of daily life's quality control. Yet not having the tools (I like agave necter, honey and maple syrup but haven't found any other healthier sweeteners) makes it a hard thing to keep up with. I'd like to try the coconut sugar myself, but I think for my husband's coffee, that stevia liquid might do the trick (sugar is all that will do it for him right now).

I would like to try any of the flavored liquid stevia drops. We have tried nunaturals stevia extract powder and really like it!
Honestly I would like to try some stevia for baking but I'm totally at a loss as to which kind/size I ought to try. My mom used to use stevia but she said it was tricky getting the mounts right for cooking. Too much has a stevia-ish bite to it and too little doesn't taste sweet. Hmmm... I def. have a sweet tooth, have been hypoglycemic since I was a skinny teen, and now I'm so not skinny anymore, so it'd be nice to see what the hype is with stevia.

I didn't realize they had both alcohol based and non-alcohol based drops. Interesting! I wonder what the taste difference is like? I would love the cherry drops for sparkling water seltzers :)
