Have you ever gone to a restaurant where the silverware wasn’t exactly as clean as you would wish? Maybe their dishwasher was over filled and your spoon, knife, fork, or plate looked spotty or had small particles of something on it. You call the waitress/waiter over and ask for another before you can begin eating---which for what ever reason always takes them a while (probably because they are ultra busy!). Yes, it has happened to me---and no I did not like or appreciate it. So when I saw that Utensil Wipes was looking for reviewers on Tomoson-I jumped on it!
I received them in time for me to use one of the wipes quickly! I happened to be going out to dinner with my Mom and threw the handy 10 pack compact package in my pocketbook. We got to the restaurant and although in this case everything was clean-except for some water spots on the knife and fork-I opened the package and proceeded to wipe down the utensils. As directed on the package I allowed them to air dry. No more visible spots!! The lemongrass scent is very appealing and my Mom ended up using it to clean her hands after the meal. The only problem (which my Mom pointed out) is that they have a soapy feel. I happen to know that this is caused mostly by the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (food grade) which is basic (as opposed to acidic). Anything basic feels soapy. I also love the fact that the package re-seals perfectly so the remaining wipes will be moist when I need them again.
Here is what they say about their product!!

I like the idea of these. I will have to look into this when I get home although they probably would have been great to take while traveling.
My husband is always leery of dirty utensils at restaurants. Not only dirty utensils, but dirty tables. Don't place your silverware on the table, place them on your napkins. I don't know if I like the idea of having a residue left on my silverware. I like knowing my silverware are rinsed with water. I like the idea of them being clean, just not putting a chemical, even food grade ones, on something that is going in my mouth.
I wonder what the paci ones would be like?
This is a great idea!! I always check my silverware, plates and glasses. So gross to find old food that isn't yours.
I had few experience like this in china.. of course its a Chinese cleaner, it has the same use as the one describe in this blog but one of my doctor friend told me that it's not safe to use. specially those that are scented... according to him they use a chemical to make the scent stay and the soupy thing is actually not natural (even if they claim to be)..
what I do if the restaurant have dirty utensils I always ask the waiter to bring me hot water and i souk it myself then wipe it with a napkin or a tissue.
I think these are a great idea. On more than one occasion I have used my napkin and a dab of water from the glass to clean silverware.

I have had to clean my utensils before and it doesn't inspire confidence in the restaurant. I need a pack of these to keep in my purse!
I too had the same experience when dining out and when the restaurant had cloth napkins, I used it to wipe the residue. Anyway, great post Miki. I look forward to receive mine this week and loves to try it too.
I love these! I have serios issues with always getting kind of dirty utensils at restaurants and it's just disgusting! Don't even ask how many times I ask for new ones :)
I actually did. We went to a restaurant one time and the fork they gave me has dried out foods in it, it's gross. This is a nice creation!
Sorry, I think dirt and germs can be good; we are super healthy that way!
If this happens at a restaurant, I just leave, can't take the thought of it. True germs are good for us, but I want them to be germs that have not been in other peoples' mouths!!!
Bring on the wipes for me, this will be handy and put to good use at home :-)
Yes! I am such a paranoia queen. So I always ask for hot water and then I dip my utensils in it and wipe it off with a napkin. So this would definitely be something I would get! Thanks for sharing this!
These are a great idea, I swear I wish I invented some of this stuff. Thanks for sharing
What a great idea, have you ever really looked at the utensils you get at restaurants. I am a germ freak and love these!
What a great idea! This will make me look twice at the utensils the next time eating out. I could see myself using them on disposable utensils as well. And the pacifier wipes are genius - can't wait until those come out!
These wipes look super handy! I'd get some just to keep in my bag. Never know when you will need them! Thanks for the great review!
I can't wait to buy some of these! I am a complete germophobe. I can picture myself wiping down the entire table with these.
Never heard of these - what a great invention!! Thanks for sharing.
I would love to have these wipes. I hate dealing with dirty flatware...it really grosses me out. I am a germaphobe so I would get a lot of use out of these.
This is so cool! I am so getting these, I am such a germ a phobe!
I could see where these would really come in handy when traveling and not really knowing the restaurants that your are eating at.
I need these! I'm always paranoid about how clean the stuff really is at restaurants.
I NEED THIS!! I usually get to go silverware and cups at restaurants
what a great product i've had to clean my fork before using a disinfectant wipe not happy about that these would be great to have for those moments
i am kind of hesitant about this product just thinking about all the chemicals in it.
Is it safe to use it after just air drying? I think I'd feel better if I could rinse!
I can very well use this one especially when traveling with kids.
I am usually one of the customers that will send everything back if one dish comes out to our table dirty! I know from working in the restaurant business a few times in my life that utensils always seem to have water spots and even though they are clean they don't look it, these sound amazing! I would def use them.
I should have this in my purse. We often go to a restaurant and yah, I encountered some utensils with spots and it's disgusting.
What a very interesting product. This is totally a must for every household. ESP if you want to save money and instead of buying those paper plates why not this one.
That is awesome! I hear you with going to the restaurants and you see their glass, fork and spoon that doesn't look all too clean at all. I couldn't use any baby wipes for it of course so this is really handy to have. Love that it is of a portable size that you can carry with you in your purse. Oh thank you for sharing.
I was a server in a restaurant for a very LONG time. It made me CRAZY when people would ask for a hot glass of water and then put their utensils in it to soak while their meal was cooking. I wanted to tell them that the only thing they were doing was encouraging the GROWTH of any bacteria that may or may not be on the silverware bc the water isn't hot enough to sterilize it! It has to be in boiling water for it to do any good!! These wipes would have been great to give to them!
