I used to bowl and I loved it! Of course that is years ago now-before my ankle gave out and my arms lost the strength to throw the ball down the alley with any kind of precision. Playing on a league is fun and yes, my team did win 1st place a couple of times. I remember being so proud and displayed the awards proudly in my living room credenza. These were usually small metal awards with a plastic base and a person in a bowling stance on top. I have since thrown them all out. Even the trophies won by the sports teams in my high school were really not that much to write home about looks wise; just different “people” holding different objects and quite a bit larger. The same held true for the college sports team awards which were showcased in the administration building of the college I attended. Fast track about 25 years and my boss at the time was winning awards for the most innovative new products at trade shows.
Each one of these was a source of pride to all who worked there. These awards were works of art! The companies who commissioned them really took the time and effort to make sure that the company who won felt special. They were Crystal Awards with various sayings etched into the crystal. He won these about 8 years in a row—plus a couple for having the best sales team! He displayed them proudly in his office. All who visited commented on how stunning they were. They also complimented him on the winning of the awards! I no longer work at that company but I will bet that they will NEVER end up in the garbage! I often would gaze at them and wonder why more people didn’t have the awards they were giving out made like these. It is truly a statement that the person who won the award is worthy of the best.

AWww what a neat story! That looks like one neat award to win!
That star there is a pretty fantastic award!
Company awards are always awesome. I have a couple I'm still holding on to.
Very beautiful and worth to win one. I remember bowling - it was fun and I was always good at it in the first game, then got worse as the day went on....hmmmmmm.
Now I watch my grandchildren play.
What a neat concept. I too, won an award for bowling.
I can say I never received an award for bowling. Still use bumpers here and say it is for the kids, lol. I love when people do receive them for their achievements, especially when the award shows they deserve it.
Wow, that is awesome. I love bowling but never been a member to any league, me and hubby does it just for fun!
That looks awesome. I can't bowl for peanuts LOL but I'm full of admiration for those who can. It looks easy but ...
awesome...glad to know you bowled before, as my hubby is still on the league...thanks for sharing
That's a cool crystal award, I am pretty sure too that it won't go to the garbage. I have never received any award, since I have never worn anything. I admire you for getting those awards in sports long time ago. I guess, if it was mine, I would've kept it.
