Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

When one of my friends handed me this book I admit I was skeptical-not what I usually read--but then why not--Well all I can say is I finished this book in two days--I could not put it down!!
I loved the way this author portrayed this story through the eyes and daydreams of a nursing home resident who might actually have lived through the Great Depression. The traveling circus was not portrayed as we might have wished but as it probably was at the time. There were tears in my eyes at some parts and smiles others--I am an animal lover and the Elephant--well I'm not going to say anymore exept--go buy it, or rent it or do whatever you have to do--just read it!! I noticed that they made a movie out of it--I just hope it is half as good as the book!!
