Book Review-On Being Jen-A Short What if Story-S R Mallory

Thursday, February 24, 2022

For everyone past and also present who were not in with the in crowd in high school-this book will resonate with you on some level.

Jealousy can be debilitating. Susan is one of the smartest girls in her high school but thinks that all those popular girls have a better home life then she does. They seem to have it all. Through the fickle finger of fate she ends up trading places with Jen and learns that she actually has the better life!

This is a really short novel that, in my opinion, should be read by parents of teens and then by the teens themselves!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Imagine sitting behind JEN, the most perfect girl in your high school. Susan may have gotten herself a full scholarship to a high-priced, classy college because she's really smart, but none of that matters. To her it's more than clear––Jen has it ALL. Or does she? Find out what happens when reality goes out the window. Bottom line? Don't be so quick to envy people. In the end, you may find out just how good your own life is. #TeenageAngst, #AlternativeTravel, #SelfConfidence.

About the Author: (from Amazon)

A USA TODAY Best Selling author and two-time READERS' FAVORITE GOLD MEDAL winner, S. R. Mallery--as her fans say--"brings history to life."

They say I'm as eclectic as my characters. I've been a singer, a composer, a calligrapher, a quilt artist, and an ESL/Reading teacher. But it is the world of writing historical fiction where I feel I've come "home." It's where I've received various awards and in addition, get to do my second love: Research.

When people talk about the news of the day, or when I listen to music, my overactive imagination likens the story to a similar kind of news in the past, which helps me conjure up scenes between characters I've yet to meet.
